James Henry Vandiver's Obituary
James H. Vandiver III "Jim"
passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 27, 2016. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Marietta with Rev. Matt Petty officiating. Mr. Vandiver will lie-in-state from 10:00am to 11:00am at Elizabeth Baptist Church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Douglasville City Cemetery.
Jim was born October 2, 1967 in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Riverwood High School in Sandy Springs, GA and attended Rhiendhart College. Jim was the co-founder of Hallway Plumbing in 2009 with his brother-in-law Bill Hall. He was instrumental in the prosperous growth of the company. He loved his employees like family. His biggest joy was watching Georgia Bulldog football and his second favorite pastime was the game of golf. His personality was larger than life. He will be missed by so many people. He touched so many lives with his humor, generosity and love. In lieu of flowers there will be a charity designated at a future date that the family would like donation to be made to.
He is survived by his daughter, Madison Vandiver; parents, James and Joann Vandiver; sister, Page Vandiver Hall; brother-in-law, William (Bill) Hall; nephew, James Merritt Hall (former UGA fullback); and step-daughter, Ashley Whiteley.
