On Saturday, March 8, 2025, James Andrew Okarmus, loving father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 85.
James was born on June 10, 1939 in Fairfield CT. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force and graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in Business Administration. He met and married the love of his life, Charlotte, and together they raised two daughters, Christine Lee and Paige Anne. They were happily married for 58 years.
James was very involved in the church and served as an elder at Liberty Reformed Presbyterian Church for many years. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, going to his grandchildren's activities and traveling with his wife. James had the gift of being able to laugh at life. He had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; and his parents Joseph and Alice Okarmus.
James is survived by his two daughters, Christine Spicer (Keith) of Powder Springs, Ga; and Paige Okarmus of Cartersville, GA. Five grandchildren, Ryan Spicer (Callie), Derek Spicer, Amy Bennett (Tripp), Emma Dunn (John), and Abigail Preece and one great grandson, Bently Spicer.
A visitation at 11:00 and Celebration of Life at 11:30 are scheduled at Collins Funeral Home in Acworth on Friday, March 14.
