James "Jamie" Larry Nelson III, 43, of Acworth, died Sunday, October 22, 2017.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Saturday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Stork and the Rev. Joseph Sharp officiating.  Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Memory Gardens.  Jamie lived in Marietta for most of his life but had made his home in Acworth for 2 ½ years.  He was employed with the City of Acworth in the Public Works Department. Jamie enjoyed NASCAR, motorcycles, and dirt bikes.  He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and loved his entire family very much.  He will be dearly missed.  Jamie was preceded in death by his dads, Ricky Dean Lawrence and Wendell Curtis Brown and is survived by his daughter, Megan Tyler Nelson-Reynolds of Marietta; mother, Vickie Brown of Woodstock; father, James Larry Nelson, Jr. of Shannon; brother, Johnathan (Amanda) Nelson of Marietta; sisters, Marsha Bradley of Roopville and Destinie Gates of Douglasville; grandparents, Mildred Lawrence of Austell and Charles and Ruth Brown of Jefferson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.  Flowers are accepted or contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the family to help with funeral arrangements.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
