James Joseph "Jim" Murrin, 76, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on December 30, 2025. He is survived
by his wife of 45 years, Elaine; his three children, Elizabeth Oxendine (Craig) of Indianapolis, Indiana,
Anthony Halstead (Lisa) of San Antonio, Texas, and Erin Hall (Patrick) of Acworth, Georgia; and five
granddaughters, Abbey, Emma, Piper, Alex Paige, and Campbell. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary
Ellen Blum (Rick) and Beth Konstantinidis (Steve), as well as extended family and many dear friends.
Jim was born on January 8, 1949, in Butler, Pennsylvania. He proudly served in the United States Army
and saw combat in Vietnam as part of the 21st Artillery Company, First Cavalry Division. He was
awarded a Bronze Star in recognition of his meritorious service in a combat zone and his dedication to
his fellow soldiers. After his military service, Jim built a successful career as a computer hardware
engineer working for Texas Instruments and Hewlett Packard. Jim was a member of St. Clare of Assisi
Catholic Church in Acworth, Georgia, where his faith community was an important part of his life.

Jim was a good friend and neighbor and was always quick to offer help, especially if it involved tools or
computers. He was a determined problem-solver and didn't stop until the work was done. Jim had a great
sense of humor and an infectious laugh that made any occasion more fun. Jim was a life-long Pittsburgh
Steelers fan and loved cheering for the Auburn University Tigers. His biggest source of pride were his
children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on January 6, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 4947 N Main St,
Acworth, GA 30101. On January 7, 2026, a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi
Catholic Church, 6301 Cedarcrest Rd, Acworth, GA 30101, followed by a military burial service at 1:00
p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Jim's name be made to one of the following
organizations: Tunnel to Towers, which honors America's heroes by providing mortgage-free homes and
support to catastrophically injured veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families; or the Alzheimer's
Association, which funds research, provides care and support for those affected by Alzheimer's and other
dementias, and works toward a world without Alzheimer's.
