James Michael "Gube" Spear, 63, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, September 15, 2015. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 20 at 4pm in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Spear officiating. Mr. Spear was a graduate of Sprayberry High School Class of 1970 and of Cornerstone School of Theology. He was MVP of Custer Park and Heck Field in Marietta. He was also a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Deedy Spear, of CA; son, Jason Spear, of San Diego, CA; and brothers, Charlie Spear, of Ellijay, Ed Spear, of Powder Springs, and Marvin Spear, of Marietta. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-4 prior to the service at Marietta Funeral Home.
