James Jeremy Byers
March 30, 1975 – February 1, 2026
James Jeremy Byers, a lifelong Georgian with a fixer's soul and a rock-and-roll heart, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 50. Born in Buford and raised in Canton, James eventually settled in Woodstock, where he was known as a man who could truly fix anything. For many years, he worked as a dedicated contractor, fitting of his hands-on nature and sharp mind, where he was often recognized far and wide for his skill with a toolkit and his signature long hair. Even after Multiple Sclerosis forced him to step away from his career, James faced his health challenges with strength. Remaining a constant presence in the lives of those he loved and never losing his passion for the things that moved him, be it from the roar of a classic muscle car to the grit of his favorite rock and country music.
James is survived by his children, James Zachary Byers and Savannah Sheree Byers, and his loving girlfriend, Christine Aboyoun. He also leaves behind his siblings, Renee Mowery and Joshua Byers, and his five step-children, Amanda Johnson, Kimberly Guardado, Kasey Carter, Eric Aboyoun, and Anthony Aboyoun. His legacy lives on in every engine that revs a little louder and every song played at full volume. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Remembered as a talented craftsman, a music lover, and a devoted family man.
