Hubert Cox's Obituary
Hubert Cox, 92, passed away peacefully at his home in Acworth on Monday, August 22, 2016, after battling a series of health issues. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Dewberry officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. A Cobb County native, Mr. Cox had lived here most of his life. Hubert is a combat veteran of WWII and served with the 3rd Army, 34th Div. during the Italian Campaign including the battles of Monte Cassino and Anzio. After the war he was employed with Lockheed Air Craft Corp. and later owned and operated the Acworth Kwik Shop. He also founded and operated Cox Tire Co. in Kennesaw (now Kennesaw Tire). He loved the game of golf and shared many happy times with his friends at Pinetree and Cartersville Country Clubs. Hubert is survived by his wife, Faynelle Cox of Acworth, as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Humane Society of Cobb County at
