Herman Black, 72, of Dallas, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022.  Funeral services will be held, 2:00pm Thursday afternoon in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Chance officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rolling Hill Memory Gardens.  Herman retired from Kennesaw State University in 2012.  He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  Herman was preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy Edwards, Sonja Cavender and Robert Black.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara Black of Dallas; daughters, Stephanie (Chris) Holman of Dallas and Jennifer (Glenn) Goatley of Acworth; siblings, Rosemary (Danny) Hartsell of Stanfield, NC, Marie (Robert) Henson, Wanda Carroll, Patricia (Richard) Stalder and George A. Black all of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren, Blake, Chelsie, Keara & Cody; great grandchildren, Emma, Kinley and Ethan.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4:00-8:00.
