Hazel Naomi Brand Gayton, 88, passed away the morning of Saturday, October 21, 2023.  She is now with her Heavenly Father and the Saints.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday 2:30pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Acworth.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00pm on Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow the service in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery.

Hazel was an amazing lady who showed love to her family and friends by always being there for them when they needed her.  She saw and lived through many changes and trials. She survived the diphtheria that took 1 of her brothers and required her to learn to walk again.  The Great Depression, WWII, breast cancer, the pandemic and several major surgeries.  She would do almost anything for her grands and great grands including traveling from Florida to Canada in her 70's and 80's. She went to many games, graduations, performances, etc.  Her family will treasure her memory and be guided by the biblical principles she taught. She sincerely wanted to see her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren succeed in life, but most importantly she desired for them to join her in heaven.  Her memory will be cherished in our hearts forever.  Go rest at Jesus' feet momma.  We are sure you have already heard, "Well done good and faithful servant".

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, T.G. and Lillian Brand, her husband of nearly 55 years, Eugene Gayton, 4 brothers and 1 sister.  She is survived by her 3 children, Johnny, Marty and Brenda; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
