Harvey Eugene
Stell
Aug 26, 1945 — Mar 19, 2023
Harvey Eugene Stell, age 77, went home on March 19, 2023. He was surrounded by his family and friends who loved him. Born in Cartersville, Georgia he was the son of Richard Lee Stell and Virginia Casteel Stell. He is survived by his brothers, William "Smokey" Stell and Hugh Earl Stell.
Harvey was married to Janice "Wilmoth" Stell from November 23, 1962 to her day of passing on January 12, 2010 (48 years). He remarried on July 25, 2015 to Arlene "Stallings" Stell until his day of passing (8 years).
Harvey is survived by his children, John (Karen) Stell and Cathy (Chris) Conkle. He loved his children and cherished his grandkids and great-grandkids. His grandkids included Sheila Garcia Sanchez, Stephanie Manye, Maranda Smith, Kelsey Conkle, Kristen Conkle, Karen Atkins, Kayla Hennen, and Krista Waller. Harvey had a whole flock of great-grandkids that called him pop-pop or poppin Harvey and he loved every one of them.
Harvey retired from C.W. Matthews as a welder and then went to work for Baldwin Paving and retired again, and again. Besides working Harvey loved a good wrestling match. One where him and his brother Smokey could yell at the TV screen and just have a good time. His other hobbies were Nascar and his favorite driver was Carl Edwards #99. But the best time for him was camping with all his friends and family. Doing a lot of fishing, cookouts, and just goofing off. His most favorite thing around the house to do was beautify his yard. He loved planting flowers and mowing the lawn. He wanted his place to look the best in the subdivision. Now during the Christmas Holidays, he would decorate with thousands of lights and decorations all around his house. Friends and family would come over just to see what he had done during the holidays.
Harvey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved his family and his friends, and we all will miss him dearly. He would always say as he left your house, "now you holler if you need me". I guess the good lord needed him.
