Obituary

Harold Jethro Fowler, age 92, passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 4 th .  He was born in Rome, GA on June 15, 1928, to Jethro "Jeff" and Lois Marie Moore Fowler.

Mr. Fowler grew up in Rome where he attended St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Darlington School and Boys High School.  He played many sports including football, basketball and earned a medal in diving.

He was married to his high school sweetheart Mary Joyce Alexander, of Rome, GA, for 72 years and together they lovingly raised two children.  Mr. Fowler served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from a career with Southern Bell.

Upon arriving to Acworth, he served on the city council and as vice mayor and mayor.  He enjoyed meeting people and giving all a ready smile and a helping hand.  He was proud to represent Acworth as Mayor.

He successfully ran the Red Arrow Car Wash on Main St. in Acworth and H and G Laundromat in Kennesaw.

Harold Enjoyed spending annual vacations with friends and family in Dayton Beach, FL.  He and Joyce spent many happy times traveling and cruising to various sunny and warm locations.  Family was thrilled to receive word early summer that "the pool is open."

Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Marie Fowler, and brother, Gene Moore Fowler.  He is survived by his wife, Joyce Fowler; son, Judge Harold Gregory Fowler (Carol); daughter, Pam Fowler Bonner (Kenny); four grandchildren, Heath Bonner (Elysia), Kimberly Clendenin (Michael), Harrison Fowler, and Christopher Fowler; four great grandchildren, Averi Bonner, Madelynn Bonner, Ella Clendenin, and Alivia Clendenin.

A graveside service will be held at 12:15pm on Saturday, May 8 at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth.  The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, May 8 at Collins Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.collinsfuneralhome.org
