Hal Leroy Dias, 72, of Acworth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Born on April 23, 1953, Hal dedicated his life to service, spending 26 proud years as a sheriff's deputy with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department. Prior to his law enforcement career, he worked as an electrician, bringing skill and dedication to every job he undertook. Hal also attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Hal was a man of many passions. He found joy in camping under the stars, cooking hearty meals, and diving into the endless world of YouTube videos. He had a deep appreciation for firearms, knives, and survival gear, always prepared and always curious. His loyal dog Bailey was never far from his side, a constant companion and source of comfort.

Above all, Hal cherished his beloved wife Dolores, the love of his life and partner for 53 years. Her passing in 2023 left a void that could never be filled, but Hal carried her memory with grace and devotion.

Hal will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his community, his adventurous spirit, and the quiet strength he shared with those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children; Carrie Schubert (Billy) of Rockmart, Brian Dias (Jennifer) of Marietta and Jamison "Jamie" Dias of Euharlee; half-brother, Gene Slade of Henderson, AL; grandchildren, Jared Kennett (Laura) , Damien Dias, Jackson Dias, Journey Dias and Tiffany Glancies; one great- grandchild, Everett Dias.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home in Acworth. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
