Gina Marie Cornelia passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020.

Gina was born February 21, 1947 in Miami, Florida, to Sturgell and Shirley Kuhn. She graduated from Miami Central High School in 1965. After marrying and giving birth to two children, she moved to Atlanta, GA, where she would eventually work for Delta Airlines. Gina transferred to Lubbock, TX with the airlines in 1986, and there she met husband Willard "Wild Bill" Cornelia, who also worked for Delta. The two transferred again and settled in Shelbyville, KY. They were married and spent many years there, gaining many friends.

Gina loved to travel, and with her lifelong friend Bettie Krebs, the two went all over the world, surely entertaining everyone they met.

Gina loved to cook and entertain, and in retirement, ran a catering business. She hosted many parties, but was most famous for her "Derby" parties.

Gina always loved crossword puzzles, fountain diet cokes, Merlot, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. Later in life, she loved playing Majong with her friends, and going to Claudia's for dinner with the "Hens."

Shelbyville friends Janet and Eddie Snyder were always there for Gina after husband Bill passed in 2017.

Gina truly enjoyed life and made the most of her time here. She was loved and will be missed by all that knew her.

Gina is survived by her children, Scott (wife Gina) and Dominic Sperrazza, her sister, Lisa Hope (husband Charles), her grandchildren, Bryce and Garrett Sperrazza, and her niece and nephew, Lauren and Greg (wife Lauren) Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Cornelia and her parents, Sturgell and Shirley Kuhn.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gina's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
