Dr. George C. Cauble Jr., 96, of Acworth, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Acworth, with the Dr. David Joyner officiating . Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth.  Dr. Cauble moved to Acworth in February of 1948 and started private practice which he operated for 43 years. He received his B.S. Degree in science from Emory University, and received his medical degree from Emory University Medical School.  He served in the Army as a First Lieutenant in the Medical Corps during World War II.  While living in Acworth he was a member of many local organizations including the Acworth Optimist International Club, the Acworth City Council and the Cobb County Medical Society, which he had served as a past president.  He also served as the physician for all North Cobb High School athletic teams for 37 years.  Dr. Cauble is survived by his daughter, Terri Lynn Daniel (Noyace); son, George Cauble III; sister, Mrs. Peggy Wills; brother, Dr. John A. Cauble; and granddaughter, Julie Ann Daniel.  The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, January 20 at Collins Funeral Home, 4947 N. Main St. Acworth, GA 30101, and on Sunday, January 21 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Acworth.
