Franklin "Lanier" Mcclure's Obituary
Franklin "Lanier" McClure, 96, of Marietta, died Thursday, July 19, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Saturday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Day and the Rev. Art Brady officiating. Burial will follow in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. Mr. McClure was born in Blairsville and had lived in Marietta for many years. He was the retired owner/operator of Mac's Barber Shop. An avid outdoorsman, Lanier loved to hunt, fish, and garden. He enjoyed working on cars and going to the mountains. Lanier was a devoted family man and was a member of Mt. Arbor Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wives, Jean McClure and Mary Taylor McClure, his son, Lonnie McClure and two siblings. Surviving are his daughter and son in law, Sandra McClure Pritchett and Terry Pritchett of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Amanda (Richard) Rice of Kennesaw, Kelly (Jennifer) Pritchett of Powder Springs, and Bryan (Anna) Pritchett of Atlanta; Sisters, Desma Killian of Travelers Rest, SC and Bea Bland of Cumming; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Arbor Baptist Church 2235 Morgan Rd. Marietta, GA 30066. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
