Obituary

Evangeline Brinkley Lewis, 90, of Acworth, died Saturday, July 7, 2018.  A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Wilbur officiating.  Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery.  Mrs. Lewis was born in Acworth and lived here all of her life.  She was a charter member of the Acworth Chapter of the Order Of The Eastern Star.  She was also a member of the Acworth United Methodist Church where she taught the kindergarten age children in Sunday School for a number of years.  Surviving are her daughter, Betsey Brown of Cartersville; grandson, Sam Brown of Acworth; great grandchildren, Lauren Brown, Lindsay Brown, Jett Brown, Ben Brown, and Nick Brown; great great grandchildren, Jamie Brown, Ryan Cox, Luke Brown, and Riley Cox; sister, Edna Burdette of Arab, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Save Acworth History Foundation 4857 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101.  The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service on Friday from 11:00 until 12:00 at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
