Eva Addie Lou King, age 96, of Acworth, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born November 18, 1924 to Elbert and Alma Mullinax in Jasper, Georgia.
Eva is survived by son, Terrell King of Acworth; daughter-in-law Christi King and grandson's Taylor and Chandler King. Also surviving is grandson's Ricky Ray and Kerry Ray of Acworth and great grandson Justin Ray also from Acworth. Also surviving were other close family members of Jasper and Tifton Georgia. Also surviving is close family friend Shirley Brooks of Acworth.
Eva King; (Maw Maw) as most referred to her as; never met a stranger. She was always willing to talk to anyone and help anyone that had a need. Her passions were her Church, family and friends. She was always delighted in a phone call or visit from any mentioned. Eva grew up on their working family farm in Jasper Georgia with siblings Doyle, Thurston, Evelyn and Loy. She often shared stories of the hard times farming but was also quick to include stories of good times she shared with family and friends while growing up. Anytime you spoke with Maw Maw you had to have the time to tell her how your family was doing. She loved and had a concern for everyone.
Her loves were family time, quilting, cooking and serving others. You never visited her home that you were not offered a meal or a keepsake to take with you. She worked up until the age of 83 with her last employment being preparing the desserts for a restaurant in Emerson, Georgia. She drove up until January of 2020 and decided she would retire from being behind the wheel. She looked forward to family gatherings and holidays and would prepare some of the best food on planet earth for those gatherings.
Maw Maw will truly be missed, however the family's peace is in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father and those family members who have already gone to their final home. She often talked about where she would spend eternity and prayed that each person she knew and came in contact with throughout life would be prepared to be in that same Heavenly place. Many will miss her warm smile and loving spirit, but for the ones left we know this is part of our makers plan and the reunion is in his time. Gone but never forgotten!
Due to COVID 19, a memorial service will be scheduled in her favorite season of the year; the spring.
