Essie P. Watkins, 96, of Acworth, died Saturday, August 29, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery in Cartersville. A native of North Carolina, Mrs. Watkins had lived in the Acworth/Marietta area for the last 20 years. She was retired as a secretary from Vanralte and was a member of the Cowetta Baptist Church in Franklin, NC. She is survived by her daughter, Caroll (Ray) Dalrymple of Acworth; grandchildren, Nona (Mike) Harris of Dallas, Dana (Justin) Willingham of Decatur, and Kim Dalrymple of Anchorage, Alaska; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild also survive. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral services on Tuesday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.
