Ernest C. Owens, fondly known as Erno, passed away on October 21, 2024, after a brief illness. Born to Ernest R. and Estelle Owens in Bartow County, Georgia, Erno spent his early years in Acworth, Kennesaw, and Marietta. He attended Acworth High School and Kennesaw Jr. College before working with the City of Marietta. He also hung siding.

Ernest is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Sutton Owens, and his siblings Marjean Morris and Dannie Owens. He is survived by his brother, Omar Owens of Gainesville, Children, Charles Owens of Canton, Erna Fellabaum of Acworth, and Michael Owens, along with 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by stepchildren David Sutton (Sharon), Johnny Sutton, Drew Sutton, Mark Sutton, and Roger Sutton, as well as 10 step-grandchildren and 25 step-great-grandchildren and 7 step-great-great-grandchildren.

Throughout his life, he found joy in various hobbies, including wood carving, archery, and painting. His dedication to service was exemplified during his time in the Naval Reserve from 1949 to 1958, where he served as a seaman and airman.

A graveside service will be held at Liberty Hill Cemetery on Friday, October 25th at 3:00 pm. Prior to the services, visitation will take place at Collins Funeral Home on Friday at 2:00 pm.
