Ernest "Ernie" Gene Hollifield, age 79, long time resident of Acworth made his final tee time with the Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

Ernie was born August 2, 1943 to the late Cecil and Bonnie Hollifield. Ernie was a general contractor in the metro Atlanta area for more than fifty years. He was well known in the community as an avid golfer, builder, developer, and restaurant owner. Ernie touched the lives of many kids as a head football coach for Due West Raiders Youth Football program. He was a member of Indian Hills, Brookstone, and Bent Tree Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf with a vast number of friends. In his younger years, Ernie enjoyed racing dirt track cars at Dixie Speedway. Ernie loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Ernie is survived by his four children, Robbie Hollifield (Terri), Lisa Baldwin, Tracy Priest (Brian), Brandon Hollifield and seven grandchildren.

A visitation to honor his memory will be held Friday, April 28 ^th between 10:00am-1:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Acworth.
