Ellen Josephine Murphy Keller, "Jo," passed away peacefully in her home on November 22, 2024

Jo had a large family that loved her deeply. She is survived by her husband, Joseph W. Keller, Jr., her son Gary (Karen) Keller, and her daughters Gina (Chris) Zito, and Lisa (Matthew) Glover as well as her grandchildren Matt, Dean, Daniel, Ashley, Joseph, Courtney, Jenna, and Grace as well as her great grandchildren: Killian, Brock, Keller, Marlee, Freya, and Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Denis and Alice Murphy, her son Joseph W. Keller, III, and her granddaughter Kimberly Keller.

Jo was born in England among seven siblings: Mary, Stella, Denis, John, Kathy, Pamela, and Veronica. Although separated by geography, she loved chatting with her brothers and sisters and always considered them to be not just siblings, but also friends.

When she married Joseph and moved to America, she was warmly and lovingly welcomed into his family by her in-laws, Elynore and Joseph Keller, Sr., and her new siblings-in-law Jeff (Patti) Keller, and Trish (Ken) Cooper. becoming very close to them through the years.

As you can imagine with all of those siblings, Jo was blessed by many well-loved nieces and nephews.

Jo loved her husband Joseph devotedly, and they were married for 58 years. As a mother, Jo was the very definition of selfless love. Her children never doubted her love and stalwart support, no matter where their lives took them. Her kids believed her to be their touchstone, and that any problem could be more easily solved after talking to Mom. Jo was also a friend that could always be depended on, and consistently looked for ways to help in any given situation.

To everyone, from family, to friends, to the cashier at the grocery store, Jo was hilarious. She had an irreverent humor and a contagious laugh. She loved word games like Scrabble and Word Connect (Level 26,736!), and taught all of her children and grandchildren the joy of playing cards and Sevens. She loved American football and didn't mind voicing her opinions at the television when referees made a bad call. She made the best egg sandwiches ("dipping eggs") and her potato salad was often asked for by name.

The world feels a bit less colorful without her in it, but her memory and the blessing of the years we shared with her will continue to brighten our lives forever.
