Obituary

Mrs. Eleanore P.  "Ellie"  Huet, age 88 of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Marietta, Georgia following a period of declining health.

Born May 3, 1929 in Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Potter and Nancy Rebecca McWilliams Potter.  Mrs. Huet was preceded in death by husband, Edwin Armond Huet, daughter, Lisa Meyer Gullette and son, Gregory James Meyer.

Moved to Ft. Pierce, Florida with her then husband, James Meyer, to be with her uncle Frank and aunt Sara in 1957.  She then settled in Melbourne, Florida with her family.  Ellie was very family oriented and believed in carrying out her Pennsylvania Dutch traditions, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas.  With her outstanding personality, quick wit and heart of gold, she made many lifelong friends.

Ellie and her husband, Ed, loved to travel, especially to her native state of Pennsylvania in their RV.  She was an avid golfer and a great Pennsylvania Dutch cook.

Ellie was a devoted Christian and very active in her church for over 30 years, Covenant Presbyterian Church where she was known as the "Hat Lady" and attended Bible study classes on a regular basis.

Survivors include, daughter, Cheryl Ann Meyer Canales (Mike) of Marietta, Ga.; grandchildren, Ariella Marlowe, Lindsay Marlowe, Ashley Sandargas and Jason Meyer; five great-grandchildren; brother, William F. Potter (Dianne) of Melbourne, Fla.

At her request, Mrs. Huet was cremated.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Florida.
