Eldred "Giz" Maxwell, a longtime resident of Acworth, went home to be with our Lord & Savior Sunday evening. He was an active member of the Acworth Presbyterian Church, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge was also a member of the Kennesaw Shriners club, the American Legion and he proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. Giz lived a full life, almost 97 years, never met a stranger, and enjoyed telling his stories of the good old days and his war stories.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Kennedy Maxwell. Survived by two daughters: Linda M Smith & husband Doug, Brenda M Davis & husband Leland. One grandson Matthew L Denmark, grandson Doug Smith Jr. & wife Rosie, granddaughter Melessia Carter & husband Paul, grandsons Edward Davis & wife Kala, Jason Davis & Wife Melissa and granddaughter Susan Willis & husband Eric. He also had 10 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
