Obituary

Eileen Mary (Smith) Bracone, 66, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2017.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 87 Lacy St NW, Marietta, GA 30060. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, August 29 at Marietta Funeral Home.

Eileen was born in Queens, New York on November 2, 1950, the daughter of Raymond Smith and Evelyn (Young) Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Sadie. Eileen is survived by her loving husband, Emil Bracone of Marietta, GA; daughter Christine (Cory) Deppen of Acworth, GA; son Michael (Brenda) Piazza of Spring Hill, FL; daughter Alison (Clay) Rollins of Woodstock, GA; stepson Matthew (Michele) Bracone of Patchogue, NY; stepdaughter Maria Bracone of Patchogue, NY; grandchildren Katelyn Rollins, Raymond & Alexander Piazza, Anthony Bracone, and
Justin & Samantha Bracone.

Eileen was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who loved her family dearly. She raised her children on Long Island, NY, where she seamlessly managed her children's countless activities that often had her in two places at the same time, while actively cheering and supporting each one. Following her husband Emil's career move to Georgia, she continued to juggle and meet the needs of her family. Eileen attended every recital, event, game, and activity of her children's, always making them feel her unconditional love. She was eventually promoted to grandma ("Nanny") with her prize of six beautiful grandchildren. She loved them dearly and had a special bond with each of them. Eileen and Emil just recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary, in addition to several years prior of friendship and partnership.

Eileen loved animals, knitting, Mr. Rogers, her Irish heritage, and Jekyll Island. But most of all, she loved being a mom, grandmother, wife, and friend. She had the biggest heart, which led her to have lifelong friendships and to serve as a second mom to many of her children's friends. She was adored by everyone, but no one more than her family. Her legacy will live on through her family and friends, and she will never be forgotten.
