Edward Anthony
Fausti
Sep 9, 1943 — Jul 6, 2017
Edward "Gary" Anthony Fausti, born September 9, 1943 (age 73), of Marietta, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 6th, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 4385 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30068, on Tuesday, July 11th at 11:00am with Rev. Glenn Ray officiating.
Gary was born in Detroit, MI, and graduated from Freedom High School, Conway, PA. He played football at the Air Force Academy and graduated in 1965 ('65, Best Alive!). He went on to earn his Master's Degree in Finance from UCLA's Anderson School of Business. He married Sandra "Sandi" Smith on February 5, 1966, and recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. He served his country valiantly during the Vietnam War and piloted a C-141 and OV-10. During this time, Gary surrendered his life to Christ. Gary and Sandi were blessed with three children. In 1971, Gary resigned from the Air Force and followed Jesus' calling to Atlanta. After briefly being a flight scheduler with Southern Air, he found his real passion as a stock broker. In addition, Gary received his Masters degree in Psychology from West Georgia and became an ordained minister. Gary was a caring father and was actively involved in his family and church. He actively won souls for Christ through his actions, his prison ministry, and his mentoring to countless middle and high school students. Among Gary's favorite things in life were studying God's Word, time with Sandi, family, church activities, good food, beach vacations, his pool, Christmas lights, coaching youth sports, and work. Notably, Gary not only invested in the stock market, but more importantly in people throughout his life. Gary will be deeply missed in this world but has begun bigger and better plans with our God. He is in heaven praising God, investing in the "Jesus Christ Industrial Average" while having his feet in the sand at heaven's "Emerald Coast", grilling, and eating ice cream.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sandi Fausti; brother, Michael and his wife Michele Fausti; sister Marina "Rene" Stevenson; sons, Brandon Fausti, and Cameron Fausti and his wife Lynn Fausti; daughter, Heather Gerard and her husband Andrew Gerard; grandchildren, Christopher Fausti, Jonathan Fausti, Lily Fausti, Timothy Fausti, Brandon Fausti, Marcus Fausti, Matthew Fausti, Jacob Fausti, Drew Gerard, and Lauren Gerard.
Interment will follow the service at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at 2:30pm. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mariettafuneralhome.org .
