DuRant G. Warwick, of Marietta, was called to his Heavenly home on March 17, 2018.  He was born in Highland Park, Michigan on July 19, 1922.  DuRant's parents were the late Benjamin G. Warwick and Inez Taylor Warwick of North Carolina.  His loving wife was the late Anna Louise Berryhill Warwick.  He had one sibling, the late William Dean Warwick of Charlotte, North Carolina.  Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Anita and J. Daniel Whigham of Lawrenceville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Thomas Wimbish of Pelham, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, D. Gilmore Warwick, Jr. and Dee Anne G. Warwick of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, J. Daniel Whigham, Jr., J. Neal Whigham, Carrie Wimbish Montgomery, Jack Wimbish and Anna Warwick; great-grandchildren, Josiah and Elijah Whigham; two sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, cousins, nephews and nieces.

DuRant's childhood years varied from Syracuse, New York to Miami and west to Memphis until his parents settled in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Before he graduated from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was called back to the Korean War.  Both times he worked as a radio repair technician.  After the war, he attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a BS in Industrial Management.  While in Charlotte, he met and later married his wife, Louise.

DuRant worked as an engineer for Western Electric in Burlington, North Carolina and eventually earned his Professional Engineer's license.  In 1974 he was transferred to Southern Bell in Atlanta where he remained until he retired in 1983.

His favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing and beekeeping.  He was a member of the Georgia Beekeepers Association. A memorial service will be held April 14th at 2:00 pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2881 Canton Rd., Marietta, GA 30066.  The Rev. Zeta Touchton Lamberson will be officiating.
