Dortha Jean "Dot" Knight left this earth peacefully in her sleep at her home in Acworth, GA on September 21, 2024.

Dortha Jean was born November 6, 1930, growing up and living her whole life in the heart of Acworth.  Dot married the love of her life, William Harold Knight Sr. on November 8, 1947 and went on to have four wonderful boys.  She loved her entire family dearly, who were her everything and devoted her life to them.  Dot was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Acworth which she loved attending. She made every service she could and rejoiced in seeing everyone as well as singing along with the hymns. Dot also enjoyed soft warm blankets, the legends of country music, painting nick knacks, watching westerns, and visiting the Smokey Mountains.  She made the best biscuits and turkey dressing in town and was thrilled everyone enjoyed it.  Dot was filled with joy to witness two of her sons be baptized.

Dortha Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Ida Owens; her husband of 47 years, William Harold (Billy) Knight Sr.; and her brothers, William Charles (WC) and Earnest Owens.

Surviving Mrs. Knight are her four sons, William Harold (Angela) Knight Jr., Darrell (Lillie) Knight, Gerald (Bobbi) Knight, and David Knight; seven grandchildren, Angela Chastain, Randall Martin, Robbie Martin, Jeremy (Lindsey) Knight, Jessica (Jennifer) Knight, Courtney (Ryan) Jennings, and Chandler Knight; twelve great grandchildren, Cherish Lowery, Christian Lowery, Rodney Martin, Christopher Martin, Tyler Martin, Brandon (Abigail) Knight, Breanna (Sean Frisbie) Knight, Micah Knight, Madison Knight, Braiden Blair, Cade Jennings, and Carter Jennings; and her one great great grandchildren, Lola Sophia Knight.  Dortha Jean is also survived by several nieces, nephews and her church family.

The distinctive privilege os pallbearers will include, Jeremy Knight, Brandon Knight, Micah Knight, Chandler Knight, Ryan Jennings, and Brad Owens with Honorary pallbearer Braiden Blair.

Visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home in Acworth on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.  Funeral service will be held at New Zion Baptist Church on Wednesday 25, 2024 at 1:00pm.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.collinsfuneralhome.org
