Obituary

Donald Grady Willis, age 90, passed away at home with his family on Sunday, July 24, 2016 in Acworth.  The funeral service will be held at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rex Cox and Rev. Danny Willis officiating.  Burial to follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth.  Mr. Willis, a resident of Acworth, was born October 27, 1925, in Bartow County and lived there most of his life.  An accomplished carpenter, he worked in construction, then spent 34 years in manufacturing, followed by five years in the grocery business.  He was a faithful and longtime member of New Zion Baptist Church in Acworth.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Grady Willis and Larah Bennett Willis, and by five sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Allene Grizzle Willis; his twin sons: Rev. Danny Willis and his wife Rhonda of Acworth; and Dennis Willis and his wife Suzanne, also of Acworth; his grandsons, Jayson Willis and his wife Megan of Acworth; Kyle Smith and his wife Catherine of White; great-grandchildren Samuel Willis and Addison Smith; his sister, Sallie Kennedy of Acworth; his brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Harold and Frances Willis of Acworth; his brother-in-law, Earl Grizzle of Acworth; and his father-in-law, Cecil Brown of Cartersville; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
