Loved ones and friends are mourning the loss of Dillard Winston Meador.

He was born August 4, 1935 to parents Irby and Beatrice in Atco, GA. He grew up with siblings Patrice, Faye, and Linford.

The family moved to Acworth in 1943. Not too many years later, on a blind date, he met Martha Chumley. They married in 1954 and recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. In those years, he built a home, family, and life in Acworth and was a committed member of New Hope Baptist church.

Dillard was the pillar of his family; relied upon for wisdom, faith, and advice.

Employed at Atlantic Steel for over 40 years, Dillard epitomized dedication and loyalty. These were traits in his professional and personal life.

He's known for being an automotive enthusiast. Fondly remembered for his Oldsmobile 442 and how proud of he was of his Harley. Dillard loved a road trip!

He was preceded in death by both his  parents, Irby and Beatrice as well as siblings Pat, Linford, and Faye. Also grandson Aaron Pierce. And most notably, his beloved Martha.

Known as Big Daddy to four grandchildren: Melissa Patterson, Justin Meador, Hannah Meador, and Naomi Meador as well as three great grandsons: Bryson, Blake, and Brody

Dillard leaves behind his three devoted sons:

Keith Meador (Linda spouse)

Mike Meador (Lisa spouse)

Clint Meador (Kelly spouse)

Service details are as follows:

Collins Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Service is at 2:00 with visitation from 11:00 - 2:00.

Interment is immediately following at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth, GA.
