Debra Heieren McWhirter, 58, of Marietta passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 from complications with cancer and Scleroderma. Her courage and positive attitude, exhibited as she faced 30 years of the challenges of Scleroderma, were an inspiration to everyone. Her life was a testimony to her faith and all who knew her loved her.

Mrs. McWhirter was born in Racine, WI. , She attended Lisle High School in Lisle, IL. and Kennesaw College in Ga.  She is preceded in death by her mother Selma Marie Heieren  and is survived by her husband of 37 years, Kim L. McWhirter; father, Duane Charles Heieren, Sr.; brothers, Duane Charles Heieren, Jr. and Douglas A. Heieren; nieces Codi Heieren and Clarissa Heieren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 12-1 PM at the Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 PM in the chapel.
