Cynthia "Chris" Jones Evans, 68, of Villa Rica, formerly of Acworth, died Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Ms. Evans had lived in Villa Rica for the past 4 years. She retired from the Cobb County Water Works as a secretary and was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gilda L. Johnson and is survived by her daughter, Renee (Byron) Wood of Douglasville; son, Eric Evans of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Matthew and Jenna Wood of Douglasville; sisters, Bettye (Allen) Chaplin of Greenville, SC, Faynell (Hubert) Cox and Joy (Raymond) Frewer of Acworth; brothers, Bobby L. (Helen) Jones of Ellijay, Jerry (Jeanie) Jones and Eddie R. Jones, of Acworth, and Gary D. (Kathy) Jones of Ellijay; several nieces and nephews also survive.
