Clyde Lance's Obituary
Harold Clyde Lance, 86, of Acworth, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Kirk Bozeman officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Mr. Lance was born in Canton but had lived in the Acworth area for most of his life. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and retired as a firefighter with the Cobb County Fire Department after 23 years of service. Clyde was a member of Acworth Lodge #176 F&AM and the County Line United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Hobgood Lance of Acworth; son, Connie Clyde (Barbara) Lance of Canton; grandchildren, Lisa (Dustin) Crider of Canton and Leslie Lance of Canton; great grandchildren, Barrett Crider, Elijah Crider, and McKenna Crider; sister, Mary Lee Long of Tyron, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the County Line United Methodist Church Building Fund 1183 County Line Rd., NW Acworth, GA 30101. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Thursday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
