Cloyd Antonio Jack Sr (1956- 2023)

On August 7, 1956, in the quiet community of Deeside in Trelawny, Jamaica, Cloyd Antonio Jack Sr made his entrance into the world and was welcomed by his parents Ida Chatoo Jack and Leslie Jack along with his siblings. He was a very intelligent youngster who was full of potential, energy and a love for sports and adventure. From an early age he was focused on achieving his goal to advance himself academically. As he progressed through his educational journey, he attended Basic school at Hastings Primary School and William Knibb Memorial High School, where he excelled academically and graduated in 1975. He then enrolled at Mico Teachers College where he completed his teacher training, honed his leadership skills and excelled in sports. He was house Captain for the Lushington house and was an avid cricketer. After graduating in1979 he spent a few years teaching at St Catherine High School in Jamaica. Afterwards, Cloyd Sr migrated to the U.S. where he taught middle and high school in DeKalb County and served as an Atlanta police officer. A strong believer in education, he pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a major in secondary education at Georgia State University and graduated in 1998.

In keeping with the motto of his alma mater, "do it with thy might" Cloyd Sr approached life with much passion. He spent most of his professional years working as a manager at Advance Auto Parts and AutoZone. He was very dedicated to his work and was a hard-working employee as well as an entrepreneur.

Cloyd Sr loved his family and always spoke of his children with love and pride. He instilled within them the values that would equip them for life, especially the importance of a good education.

He was called home suddenly on June 15, 2023. Those who knew Cloyd Sr were positively impacted by his contagious laughter, his love for humanity, generosity and his warm personality. Cloyd Sr is sadly missed and survived by his daughters Natrecia Jack-Thompson (Anthony), Jackie Jack-Nora (Kenneth), and Yolanda "Summer" Jack. Sons Andre Jack, Jermaine Jack (Vernathelia), Cloyd Jack II (Nicole), Jamal Jack, Jaleel Jack, and Elijah Jack.

Grandchildren: Andrea Jack, D'junae Thompson-Jack, Gabrielle Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Austen Nora, Aubree Nora, Versianuquelia Jack, Katarah Jack, Zemirah Jack, Caeli Amore Jack.
Siblings: Bevon Jack, Bibsy Jack-Murray, Mavis Campbell, Vilma Campbell-Mclean (Ronald), Gile Campbell, Lana Campbell, Lloyd Jack, Denzil Jack (Claudia), Donette Jack, and Kharel Jack ,and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Leslie Jack, his mother Ida Chattoo-Jack

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm on July 1, 2023 in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.  Collins Funeral Home, 4947 N.
