Chris Kirkwood's Obituary
Chris Kirkwood, 52, of Woodstock, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Tuesday morning, September 26th , in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home with Mr. Greg Dowdy officiating. Inurnment Pine Ridge Memorial Park. Chris was born in Atlanta and had lived in Woodstock for many years. He was very active in the Side By Side Clubhouse and the Pilot's Club Artists With Disabilities. He attended Camp Wingrove, a camp for persons with brain injuries, every year. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Kirkwood and is survived by his father, John A. Kirkwood and Sandy Retherford of Woodstock; sisters, Danni Mendoza of Canton, Terri Painter of Cedartown, and Jeana Prescott of Newnan; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Side By Side Clubhouse, Inc. 1001 Main St. Stone Mountain, GA 30083. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service on Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
