Obituary

Mrs. Carol Ann (Biggar) Layne, 60, of Marietta, GA passed away surrounded by her family October 1, 2018. She was born September 6th, 1958 in Haverhill, MA to her late father James Biggar and her mother Jean Biggar. Carol was married to Gary L. Layne for 29 years. She is survived by her mother, Jean, her three brothers, James Biggar, Mark Biggar, and Scott Biggar, her husband Gary Layne, her two children Victoria Layne and Benjamin Layne, her three step children, Joshua Layne, Brandon Layne and Rachel Taylor and her two grandchildren Amelia Layne and Noah Taylor.

Carol graduated from Timberlane Regional High School in 1976, National Honor Society, from Liberty University, Summa Cum Laude in 1983 Bachelor of Science in Music Education and the University of New Hampshire in 1987 Master in Math Education.

Carol dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and lived out her faith throughout her entire life. She was an accomplished singer with one album to her credit. She spent her professional career pouring into her students the love and acceptance that she felt from her heavenly Father. Carol taught music and mathematics for over 30 years and was one of the best teachers you could have known.

She was an extremely dedicated and beloved Christian, sister, daughter, daughter in-law, wife, mom, and teacher.

The family will receive friends and visitors on Friday October 5, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066. An additional viewing will be from 2:00pm to 3:00pm prior to the funeral service which will be held Saturday October 6, 2018 at 3:00pm at Piedmont Church, 570 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066. Interment will follow in Rolling Hills Memory Gardens, 4355 Hwy 92, Acworth, GA 30102.
