Bobbie Carole Shook, age 85, died Sunday, July 12th in Cartersville, Georgia​ after living a long and productive life with John, her husband of 63 years.

Bobbie Carole was born in Monroe, Tennessee on March 1, 1935 to Varner Robert and Eunice Flora (Linder) Wright and worked on the family farm throughout her high school years. Bobbie Carole often recounted how she enjoyed playing basketball in school and followed and enjoyed watching basketball. She was a lifelong Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves fan.  But she was first and foremost a fan of "anything" associated with the University of Tennessee.  She followed her sister, Billie Faye, to Detroit, Michigan in 1953 and worked at Montgomery Wards Department Store. Mutual married friends of each introduced her to John Alexander Shook and they were married on November 28, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan.

John and Bobbie lived in Redford Township until 1963 when they purchased a home in Nankin Township (later became the City of Westland) both of which are suburbs of Detroit. While they lived in the Detroit area John worked in the residential construction industry and later with an automotive company. Bobbie Carole maintained the home during that time and later worked at S.S. Kresge's Department Store for over 20 years.

John and Carole left Michigan and lived a brief time in Lebanon, Tennessee, later moving to Acworth, Georgia in 1994 where they resided for 26 years.

Bobbie Carole is survived by her two children, Mike (wife-Patricia) and Elizabeth (husband-Jerry).  She also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren (Adam and Ashley Schindler, Jennifer and John Shook) and one great-grandchild (Madison Schindler).

Bobbie Carole maintained a job outside the home along with the challenge of raising two children in the late 60's and 70's. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed her "house in order."

Bobbie Carole was a woman of faith and strong conviction and remained devoted to family and friends her entire life.
