Barbara Carol Brown, 80, of Acworth, passed away on September 5, 2017.  Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2:00 in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Everett of Christ Central officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Barbara was born in Marietta on October 12, 1936. She graduated from Acworth High School and was retired from a longtime career with Bell South. She enjoyed reading, watching Braves baseball games and spending time with her family.  Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Gertie Brown and sister, Jerrie Brown Griggs and is survived by her brother Pete Brown and sister-in-law Ann Brown; brother-in-law, Lamar Griggs; niece Shannon Griggs Stifter (Eric Stifter); niece Alicia Brown Goodwin (Jeff Goodwin); nephew Jason Brown (Sarah Brown); great-nieces Olivia Grace Goodwin & Kinley Brown; great-nephews Caden Stifter & Colten Brown.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.collinsfuneralhome.org.  The family will receive friends  prior to the funeral service on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30301 770-974-3133.
