Banks F. Turner, age 86 of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

Born January 1930 in Alton, Virginia, he was the son of the late Andrew Stephen Turner and Myrtle Ruth Barker Turner. Mr. Turner served 1951 to 1976 in the United States Air Force in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Noonday Baptist Church for the past 28 years where he was known as "The Candy Man".

Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the Noonday Baptist Church, with the remains placed in state at the church at 10:30 a.m.. The Rev. Larry Sandidge, Rev. David Mahaffey and Dr. Mark Somers will officiate. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with military graveside rites by the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his Wife of 65 years, Patsy Turner of Marietta,Ga.; Daughter, Jo Ann Montgomery (Jim) of Canton, Ga.; Son, Mike Turner (Debbie) of Sharpsburg, Ga.; Grandchildren, Kelly Hendricks, Nick Dudley, Tiffany Turner Reynolds and Amy Turner. 5 Great-Grandchiildren.

The family will receive friends at Noonday Baptist Church, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be make to the Noonday Baptist Church, Debt Retirement Fund, 4121 Canton Rd., Marietta, Ga. 30066.
