Obituary

Ansley Cochran of Dallas, GA, left this world May 22nd at her own time and in her own way.  Despite being just 21 years old and tiny in stature, Ansley was a giant personality and had enormous character.

Although known by thousands across the world because of her 19-year battle with childhood cancer, she was so much more and will be desperately missed by her family and those closest to her.  She endured countless treatments, surgeries and hospitalizations and never failed to amaze her family and medical team by facing each new challenge with a smile.  Her faith, determination and sass left an unforgettable impression on all who know and love her.  She was truly a miracle in every way.

Ansley and endless talents.  She sang beautifully, danced fiercely, shopped tirelessly and could draw like an artist.  Her comfy t-shirts, heels, soft blankets and music were her true loves.  She was featured in numerous newspaper articles, interviewed on radio many times and written about in a medical journal.  At a young age, she sang the National Anthem at events, told her story at a CURE function in front of hundreds and raised money for childhood cancer research.

Her love of Christ only strengthened over the last year and her testimony led her mother and Grandpa Buddy to be recently baptized at her side.

Her family would like to thank all the staff at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and Egleston.  Dr. George, Dr. Cash and the PICU staff at Egleston were truly lifesavers and we will be forever grateful for the love and care shown to Ansley over the last 19 years.  The nursing staff and the amazing Tidings will never be forgotten.

Ansley is treasured and survived by her parents, Lamar and Donna Cochran.  Her sister, Ashtyn Cochran (Chad Smith), Grandparents, Joyce and Bobby Dickson, Bill and Willene Cochran and Buddy Hobba.  Her faithful Aunt Phyllis (Stan Atkins) and cousin Joseph Ice (Natalie Ice and Ryker Ice).  Her favorite puppies in the entire world, Jimmy Chew and Cabela.  So many close friends, fans and followers.

Please honor her memory and live life with a smile, gratitude and a love for Jesus.  Matthew 17:20.

A private memorial service for Ansley will be held by her family at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her honor to the AFLAC Cancer and Blood Disorders Center 1405 Clifton Rd., Atlanta, GA 30322 or CNCF (Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation) 360 W. Schick Rd., Suite 23 #211 Bloomingdale, IL 60108.
