Anna Rhodes Fernandez, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2023. She was born on January 12, 1940, in Mobile, Alabama, to the late Frank Rhodes, Sr. and Jimmie Louise Ward Rhodes.
Anna lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends. Anna earned her high school diploma and an Associate's Degree from Peace College in Raleigh, North Carolina, completing her education in 1960. It was in Raleigh where she met the love of her life, Claude Fernandez, and on November 19, 1960, married him at Fort Bragg. Anna proudly embraced the role of an Army wife, supporting her husband's military journey and embodying true patriotism. Her unwavering gratitude for service members was evident as she wholeheartedly thanked them wherever she encountered them. When Anna and Claude concluded their time with the Army, they settled down in Cartersville, GA. They joined Sam Jones Methodist Church, and were devoted members for many years.
Anna's love knew no bounds, especially when it came to her nieces and nephews. She adored them with all her heart and left a lasting impact on each of their lives. If Anna loved you, she loved you BIG, demonstrating her affection through her infectious laughter and her irresistible sense of fun.
She will be deeply missed by her surviving relatives, including her brother Frank Rhodes, Jr., sister-in-law Mary Beverly Brannen Rhodes, nephews Russ Rhodes, Richard Rhodes, niece Laurisa Rhodes Hayes and niece Sarah Adkins.
