On December 21, 2017, just four days before Christmas, Amy Thorne, of Woodstock, passed away at home.  She is survived by her children, Alexis and Caleb Rainey; her former husband, Ken Thorne; her bonus children, Tyler, Mason, Noah, and Tori Thorne; parents, Dan and Laura Hester; brother, Danny Hester; and sister, Beth Hester of Greenville, SC.

Amy volunteered her time with City On a Hill United Methodist Church and the Boy Scouts of America.  She loved camping with the Scouts.  She always had a knack for finding the best deals, and was happy to teach Lexie and Ken her ways of saving money.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 30 at City on a Hill UMC.  The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.mariettafuneralhome.org
